Emergy-based comparative analysis of an ecological economy in the Yangtze River Delta

The Yangtze River Delta (YRD) has abundant regional advantages. Its rapid economic development plays an essential strategic role in China's overall growth; however, this place significantly pressurized on resources and the environment. Accordingly, study developed evaluation index system of sustainable for a green based emergy theory. Moreover, comparative analyses were made according to present ecological–socioeconomic systems YRD. results indicated large gap between production efficiencies three provinces single city highest yield ratio was Anhui Province, but corresponding per capita output density lowest; environmental load ratios all > 10, which is considered high load; indices < 1, represents state unsustainable development.
